Ga-Nala residents plans to establish fire team

The outcome of the community meeting in Ga-Nala was not one in favour of the municipality.

The devastating house fires that swept through Ga-Nala, seems to be under control as the municipality placed fire truck back after a long absence.

The municipality removed the fire trucks in February last year as they deemed the building they were in unsafe.

“The fire department was robbed one evening and due to the unsafe conditions it was decided to move the truck to Phola,” Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson said when the first enquiry was done.

It took seven structural fires before the municipality moved the trucks back to the Highveld town.

A community meeting was called for August 6 at18:00 at Kriel High School.

Some of the points on the agenda are: the fire brigade, the fire team, law enforcement, electricity, sewage, and potholes.

The outcome of the meeting will be shared once all the information is received.
