Man killed in brutal stabbing at village tavern

Police are now treating and investigating the case as murder after a man died in hospital because of his injuries.

A man was stabbed several times during a violent incident at a tavern in Masakhane Village.

According to the police, the victim was taken to Impungwe Hospital by a friend, but sadly died from his injuries.

“The hospital called us after seeing the man’s wounds. He had been stabbed twice in the chest, once in the arm, once in the buttocks, once in the thigh, and once in the ear,” said Witbank Police spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall.

Police further mentioned that the victim’s friend told hospital workers that the stabbing happened at a local tavern in the village.

“At first, it was treated as an inquest, but it has now been changed to a murder case. Police are still trying to find out what happened and who was involved.”
