Man loses thousands in Coronation house robbery

The victim pointed out two suspects who have since been arrested.

A man’s casual night with his girlfriend took the worst turn as they were allegedly attacked, assaulted, and robbed by two men.

According to the police, the man said that before midnight on August 1, he was sleeping with his girlfriend in Coronation when two men suddenly entered forcefully through the door.

They reportedly assaulted him with a bottle, demanding money.

When they learnt that he didn’t have cash on him, the man reported that they forcefully took his bank card and walked with him to the CBD, where they were joined by a duo in which he recognised one of them.

The robbers allegedly withdrew money from his bank and walked back.

Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson for the Witbank SAPS, said, “To avoid house robberies, always secure your doors and windows, report any unusual or suspicious activity to the police, and lastly, know your surroundings and neighbours so that it can be easy for you to get help.”
