Mothers of Love celebrates 27 years of existence

The ladies had a fun time together, reflecting on how far they have come as an organisation.

The chairperson and committee members of the Mothers of Love Club Burial Society recently treated the organisation members to a delightful buffet lunch at Billy G restaurant to celebrate their 27th anniversary.

On August 10, the ladies were out and about, wining and dining, and having the best time of their lives as they reflected on how far their organisation has come.

Despite enduring numerous challenges throughout the years since its inception in 1998, the organisation is still standing and prevailing, crediting it to their united perseverance and understanding.

Though some members have passed on, the club’s legacy continues to live on, as their children are always there to take over.

“Our event was all about celebration, honouring, and reflecting on our journey. It is only fair that throughout our busy lives, one mother can spare a day to meet with other mothers, laugh and have a good time,” said Pinky Simelane, chairperson of the organisation.

Not only were the ladies treated like the queens they are on the day, with private transport organised to fetch them from their respective homes, they also received advice to sustain them in their different journeys of life from wise women who have been through bumpy paths.

Though some members couldn’t make it due to work commitments, the members still agreed that they had an amazing time together. They shared their joys and sadness, remembering those who’ve passed on.

“What better way to celebrate Women’s Day than by celebrating it with phenomenal women of power. It was a really beautiful day,” Pinky said.
