Royals ready to tackle land and economic issues

Royal houses want their land and will go through great lengths to get it back.

Speculation that former MK Party Mpumalanga leader Mary Phadi would be forming a new political party was put to rest.

The announcement was made at a historic event at Witbank Dam that brought together various royal houses from across the country for the first nationwide assembly of monarchs and royal leadership in over 100 years.

Political figures also attended the gala dinner that followed as the echoes of the media briefing faded away on September 1.
In a nutshell, Prince Andile Mbeki, the royal media liaison, said Monroyal, the monarch and royal leadership council, is not affiliated with any political party.

He stated that as royalty by birth, they stand above politics. He explained that the royal leadership council plans to meet with political parties to discuss the future, as they are not satisfied with the small strides the government is making.

He mentioned that they will also meet with what he referred to as ‘white monopoly capital’.

Delivering the Monroyal statement, Ndunankulu Phumlani Mfeka, who was part of the MK Partyup to six months ago and now took up the role as leader of the cultural lobby group INjeje YabeNguni Council, said their council will engage in direct dialogue with those who hold vast portions of their ancestral lands.
