More than 10 houses destroyed in eMalahleni windstorm

According to an eyewitness, Peter Nzima, some materials that were used to build the houses were recovered at a nearby graveyard.

A windstorm tore through the area of Phola on Saturday, destroying more than ten homes and scattering building materials into the nearby graveyard.

Luckily, no one was injured.

“The worst part about this whole thing is that those homeowners had just recently relocated to the area. They really need help because they are now stranded,” said Peter Nzima from Phola.

Attempts to reach out to the area’s ward councillor for a comment were made, but were unsuccessful.
