Clr Mathebula hard at work

Ward 17 residents speak out on service delivery, billing issues, and safety concerns, and Clr Mathebula is listening.

Clr Sizwe Mathebula continues to lead from the front in Ward 17, where he recently met with residents at Lynnville Hall to address a range of critical service delivery and social issues. The meeting, held on September 30, provided a platform for open dialogue between the councillor and the community on matters that directly affect households.

Discussions focused on municipal payments, the ward’s overall payment rate, and the proposed prepaid electricity tariffs for the 2025/2026 financial year, and the Indigent Subsidy Programme.

Another key item on the agenda was the ongoing Household Data Collection Project, aimed at resolving problems related to incorrect billing.

“The attendance was very convincing,” Mathebula said. “We also encourage the people to continue paying their municipal accounts so that there can be service delivery.”

The meeting further addressed growing concerns around Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).

Mathebula added, “They requested to have a session with the Executive Mayor. Also, issues will be attended to on a one-on-one basis.”
