Kwa-Guqa mom in hot water after allegedly leaving minors unattended – one a 7-month-old baby

The community is outraged because the minors were found in her house, with one of them suffering from a burn wound.

Tempers flared up at Empumelelweni Clinic earlier today as community members, angered by a mom who allegedly left her three minor children at home without supervision, gathered and demanded answers from the mom.

The minors aged 5 years old, 3 years old, and 7 months, were found inside a house by a neighbour.

According to the neighbour, who spoke to WITBANK NEWS earlier, the three-year-old was suffering from a burn wound.

“I found the three kids inside the house, and I reached out to a local organisation that came and helped us take the child who suffered from a burn wound to a local clinic,”the neighbour said.

The community went searching for the mom and took her back to the clinic.

Anger erupted as women from various organisations came in numbers and gathered at the clinic, demanding answers from the mother.

The mother retaliated and said she had left the children under a neighbour’s care.

The mother further explained that she had brought the child to the clinic on Sunday, where the child received medical assistance. However, the child’s condition worsened.

Social workers are investigating.

This is a developing story.
