SAPS launch ground search after finding 3 bodies in bushes at Ferrobank

The search party aims to carefully check for any additional evidence or other possible victims.

The Vosman SAPS, in collaboration with the Middelburg K9 Unit and concerned residents, will launch a coordinated search party in the Ferrobank area this morning.

The search follows the recent uncovering of three decomposed bodies in the bushes near an old mine shaft.

The first body was discovered on October 9 when police were tracing a missing person in the open fields of Ferrobank.

Shortly after, a second body was found in close proximity after police had received a tip-off from residents.

Two days later, on October 12, a third body was then located following a tip-off from a local resident.

The circumstances surrounding the three incidents are still unknown.

“One of the deceased’s  relatives and a community member reached out and they told us that they were not satisfied with how the discoveries were made, therefore they requested us to launch a search party as they want to confirm if there are no more victims lying lifeless in the bushes,” said the Vosman SAPS spokesperson,  Captain Vusi Mnisi.

This is a developing story.
