Pedestrian robbed in broad daylight in the CBD

The police urge the public to be vigilant when walking around the streets.

A man was robbed of his jewellery and cash as he walked in the CBD at daylight.

According to the police, a man said that on January 7, around 12:00, he was walking next to King George Park when the nightmare unfolded.

He reported that he was approached by two men who greeted him and were suddenly threatened by one with a knife, while the other one grabbed him and demanded everything he had with him.

The robbers fled the scene with the man’s bracelet, smart watch, necklace, and R200 cash.

Warrant Officer David Ratau from Witbank SAPS urges the public to be extra vigilant when going around the streets.

“Always be observant and trust your instinct. If you sense danger, alert the police as soon as you can to get help,” he said.
