A man was left shaken and without his valuables after being targeted by armed robbers in Vosman, early in the morning.

A resident from Vosman Extension 16 was allegedly attacked by a group of men in the street, robbing him of his valuable possessions.

According to the police, a man said that on January 18, around 06:00, he was walking along Themba Mkhabela Street, when ‘nature called’.

As he crossed the street to relieve himself, the man said he heard voices. Thereafter, reportedly turned his head to a group of men, one of whom hit him with an alleged firearm on the head and demanded his cellphone.

The attackers searched him, robbing him of his wallet, cellphone, and his bag full of clothes and important documents as he had been on his way to Gauteng. The robbers fled the scene with the items, leaving the man shaken.

This early morning robbery highlights the increasing vulnerability of commuters who walk the streets of Vosman in the early morning hours.
