Livestock guards tied up as robbers slaughter a cow during a house robbery

The robbers didn’t take the cow; however, they made off with the guards’ cellphones and other items.

Witbank SAPS have launched an investigation into a violent house robbery that occurred on a farm in Bulpan on the Verena Road.

The incident that occurred on January 25 left three men who had been on duty guarding livestock tied up.

According to the police, a man reported that he was awakened by lights outside his home. Before he could step out, his door was kicked open by three men, one armed with a firearm.

The man was tied up with a rope, and his room was searched before the intruders moved to another room where two of his colleagues were sleeping. They too were tied up.

Police reports further indicated that the victims’ cellphones, an axe, and a panga were taken during the robbery.

A violent act then took center stage when the robbers attacked the cow that they had been guarding. The cow was slaughtered; however, they didn’t take it.

The Witbank Police have confirmed that the suspects involved remain unknown, and investigations are still ongoing.
