Witbank SAPS appeals for community assistance in murder investigation

The man was found burnt beyond recognition, and the circumstances surrounding the killing remain unknown.

SAPS in Witbank is calling on the community to assist in solving a murder case and identifying a deceased man found in Old Coronation.

The body was found on February 16 at 04:00 by a passerby.

According to the police, the victim was burnt beyond recognition, and his identity remains unknown.

The circumstances surrounding the killing are still under investigation.

Acting Station Commander Colonel Nonhlanhla Kgosana urged members of the community, particularly those with missing male relatives, to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying the deceased or in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

“We appeal to the public to assist us in solving this case. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital in ensuring justice is served,” said Kgosana.

Community members with information are requested to contact Witbank Police Station at 079 891 5570 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111. SAPS has assured that all information provided will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
