Outraged women call for no bail for Siyanqoba robbery and rape suspects
Two suspects linked to a Siyanqoba house robbery and rape case are expected to appear in court, while a third suspect is still at large.
Angry women are expected to pack the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today as two men accused of a Siyanqoba house robbery and rape appear in court.
The case is set for a formal bail application, while a third suspect linked to the crime remains at large.

This comes after a house robbery and rape case was reported on September 21, 2025 at approximately 00:10.
According to the police, three suspects broke into her home while she was sleeping with her children.
She reported that after hearing a knock at the door and remaining silent, the suspects smashed a bedroom window to gain entry.
Fearing for her children’s safety, she moved them to another room before the suspects confronted her.
One of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at her and demanded money. She was then forced into another bedroom, where she was allegedly raped by all three suspects.

The women said they will not rest until the suspects are denied bail, insisting that the community’s safety and the victim’s justice come first.
Community member Nomsa Masiyela, during the latest court proceedings, said, “We are glad that the case was postponed, and we wish that they don’t get bail. We don’t want them outside, as we are not safe around them.”
