Phola SAPS engages community to fight crime
Phola SAPS engaged residents of Sakhile Section during a community meeting to address crime and encourage active participation in crime prevention.
The Phola SAPS held a community meeting at Sakhile Section (Iraq) to engage residents on local criminal activities and promote active community participation in crime prevention.
The meeting on March 6 was led by Sector Manager Sergeant Nomsa Sindane and Sergeant Thabang Petros Ntuli, Communications and Social Crime Prevention Officer.
Representatives from the CPF, the Youth Desk, and the Community in Blue also attended.
Community members attended in large numbers to hear what SAPS had to present regarding criminal activities in the area.

Ntuli said, “The sector manager emphasised to the community members the importance of reporting crime and how it assists the police in developing appropriate strategies to address crimes that are committed in the area. Sindane highlighted the importance of community engagement in fighting crime and active participation.”
Ntuli also addressed attendees, raising awareness on key social issues, “We raised awareness about GBV, domestic violence, ‘rate my service’, the suggestion box kept in the CSC.”
