Angel gives Jeremiah Mdaka School 350 reasons to smile

According to Angel, Jeremiah Mdaka Primary School is one of the most deserving, as it is the school that built her educational foundation in the past.

Angel Network, a local non-profit organisation in eMalahleni, donated 350 packs of sanitary pads to Jeremiah Mdaka Primary School.

Held on February 27, the handover formed part of the founder, Angel Nkosi’s initiative, Pad a Girl, which she established in 2025 to ensure that no girl child misses school due to a lack of access to sanitary products.

Last year, the initiative began with a donation of 100 packs of pads to another local school. This year, Angel went even bigger, tripling her contribution to Jeremiah Mdaka Primary – a school close to her heart.

“This is the school I attended from 2000 to 2006,” she explained. “Many learners here come from underprivileged homes, and I want to make a difference in every girl’s life.” Angel emphasised the importance of her mission, “I want every girl to know that sanitary pads are not a luxury, but a daily necessity.”

The learners were not only grateful for the donation but also delighted by the packaging of the pads, joking that they looked like they contained chocolate.

The moment was filled with joy for Angel, who was thrilled to reunite with some of her former teachers still serving at the school.

The school expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, noting that it aligns with their own programmes aimed at supporting learners through puberty.

The donation, they said, will go a long way in empowering girls to focus on their education without the burden of worrying about basic needs.

Angel’s Pad a Girl campaign is a movement to restore dignity, confidence, and opportunity to young girls in her community.
