With prayer – Kriel SAPS ready for safer Easter holidays

The prayer session aimed to prevent a large number of accidents along various roads in the city, with a few regarded as hotspots.

Kriel SAPS recently hosted a Safer Easter Holidays prayer session.

The event on March 27 was spearheaded by Kriel SAPS station commander Lt Col Phinah Seloane, Vispol commanders, and Vispol support members.

They invited various religious and indigenous traditional leaders to participate in the spiritual intervention.

According to Kriel SAPS spokesperson Constable Sboniso Magagula, the aim of the prayer was to cover the surrounds of the small Highveld town in prayer, as a number of tragic accidents have covered the roads in tragedy in recent months.

“The service was aimed mostly at our hotspots where these accidents likely happen, that is, the R547 Kinross-Kriel Road, R545 Bethal Kriel Road, Kriel Ogies Road, police station Intersection, the provincial road Clewer intersection, and Thubelihle intersection,” said Magagula.

Seriti, the traffic department, the fire department, local leaders, security companies, and local residents also supported the initiative with their presence, and the station’s appreciation went to them.

The station also expressed deep appreciation to the Kriel Thubelihle Taxi Association, which helped with the transportation of the praying entourage.

In her keynote address, Seloane thanked the religious leaders, and traditional leaders, and everyone for their invaluable contributions to this service that left her in awe, and emphasised that it was through the unity that this was successful.

Magagula further emphasised that should any community member be in serious need of police assistance, they can make use of the CSC number, 082 798 0723, or directly contact the communication line on 079 891 5030.
