‘Kraggies’ winter sports day sets the tone for upcoming season

Six schools from across the province came together in Emalahleni for a day of fun and competition.

Primary schools from across the province came together in Emalahleni for the annual Laerskool Kragbron Rugby and Netball day.


According to Christna Smit, the tournament organiser, the games on April 10 were hosted to expose the players to some fun and practice, as the league will be starting soon.


The netball saw participation between Laerskool Witrivier, Laeveld, Taalfees, Kragbron, Delmas, and Klipfontein. On the rugby field, four schools competed, including Laerskool Witrivier, Laeveld, Kragbron, and Delmas.

In total, they had 90 games starting from U9 to U13.


“We also had 64 umpires who graded for level one,” said Christna, adding that the kids really enjoyed themselves.
