Elders show off coolest moves at Moth Village fun day

The recycled teenagers at the Moth Cottages picked the perfect ‘P’ prompt for this year’s annual event and they had loads of fun.

The elderly at the Moth Retirement Village recently had their chests sore with laughter as one of their own ushered them into yet another exciting day of fun.

Held on April 10, the annual event, organised by Annetjie Oosthuizen, a resident at the old age home, saw the recycled teenagers dress up in funky outfits that aligned with the letter ‘P’, which was their theme for the day.

“We do this every year, so we use a letter in the alphabet, and this year we chose the letter P,” said Marinda Luus, manager at the village, adding that one of the elders didn’t have outfits aligning with P, so she showed up in a busy bee look.

The event featured prizes that were to be won by the top three winners of the day, as they also showed off their coolest moves on stage.

“The elderly always enjoy the fun days so much because Annetjie always makes sure that everything is set, everyone is ready, and keeps us laughing to bits,” Marinda said.

The elderly closed off the event with some good refreshments.
