Entrepreneurs urged to put God first in their businesses

The gathering featured speakers who shared 10 principles for the entrepreneurs to live by in their businesses.

The Christian Business Community recently came together to enjoy a good breakfast and learn some business-changing lessons.
Held on April 10 at New Life Church, the gathering brought together various entrepreneurs to network and share skills with one another.

“We live in a world that is very much broken, and there are a lot of businesses doing business not in a Godly way,” said Pastor Louis Mare from the church. “It’s good to always come together and practice support towards each other. We want to build a community where we can rely on one another.”

The event featured two esteemed speakers, Roxy van Bruwaene, an experienced businesswoman and former Miss Mpumalanga, joined by Sibongile Macholi.
Starting her speech, Roxy quoted a bible verse which speaks about seeking first the Kingdom of God.

“Put God first because He is your CEO and He runs your business,” she said.

“When I say Kingdom Economy, I’m talking about the supernatural movement in your business when miracles that happen in your business don’t make sense.”

The speakers shared a total of ten powerful nuggets for the entrepreneurs to live by in their businesses.
Roxy shared seven principles that she said would help entrepreneurs thrive. They included: purpose over profit, don’t be scared, know your numbers, branding, set yourself goals each year, don’t expect someone to do what you wouldn’t do, and have a look into your systems.

Sibongile, on the other hand, argued with the common saying that “knowledge is power.”
She said, “Knowledge is not power; application of the knowledge is power.”

The speaker explored three kingdom principles for growth, which included seeking mentorship and support, serving others impact before income, and lastly, stewardship and excellence.

Sibongile challenged the entrepreneurs to discipline themselves and spend time in devotion because that is where the growth and wisdom to grow one’s business come from.
