Whisking up funds for Makena’s tour

Mom Almarie Pretorius is baking delicious cakes to raise money for Makena’s upcoming tour to Singapore. If you want to order, you can contact Almarie at 076 022 1060.

Almarie Pretorius’ kitchen has been transformed into a ‘bakery’ as this mom is whisking up batter for delicious cakes to fund her daughter’s tour to Singapore.

Makena is included in the upcoming tour to Singapore from September 25 to October 2 as part of the Elite netball team.

Makena had a hand operation in January, followed by weeks of physiotherapy, moments of quiet frustration, and lots of prayers.

As soon as the physiotherapist gave the nod, Makena was back on the court for HTS’ second team.

They ended up in first place in the MWU Pukke season, and she then received an invitation to join the Singapore team in September.

The total cost of the tour is R69 9900, including taxes.

Makena’s mom, Almarie Pretorius, did not hesitate. She simply reached for her apron and started baking.

The following cakes are available at R150 each:

Cupcakes are available at R20 each.
