One big dream, 5 dancers and a R150 000 challenge

Five local dancers have qualified to compete in the Galaxy of the Ocean International Competition, but they need the community’s help to get there.

Five talented young dancers from eMalahleni have earned their places on the big stage after qualifying for the prestigious Galaxy of the Ocean International Competition!

The competition will take place aboard an MSC cruise ship from January 25 to 29, 2027.

While the girls were practising, Witbank News popped in to catch up with the local stars.

We met five ambitious and caring youngsters filled with endless determination and dreams that reach far beyond the dancefloor!

Determination, passion and plenty of personality

How can you help?

Representing the country on an international stage comes with a hefty price tag of R150 000.

The team has set up a BackaBuddy crowdfunding campaign to help cover their travel and competition expenses.

With only R5 600 raised so far and just two months left on the clock, these dedicated young athletes need the community’s support to turn their dream into reality.
