Traffic chaos on N12 following heavy fog
Motorists are urged to exercise caution when driving along the N12 and Kriel/Bethal Road as the fog remains heavy.
Traffic on some parts of the N12 Highway is at a standstill after multiple accidents were reported in heavy fog. Emergency services are on their way, and one of the crashes has already been confirmed to involve injuries.
One accident happened at the S-bend, where a car is stuck in the middle of the road, blocking traffic.
Another crash occurred on the R555 on-ramp, adding to congestion. A third accident has also been reported, though details are still limited.
The dense fog persists over the highway, reducing visibility to very low levels and making driving conditions dangerous.
Officials advise motorists to reduce speed, keep headlights on, and maintain safe following distances.
Where possible, drivers should avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.
