eMalahleni residents face another dry weekend

The municipal water supply has been shut down to allow emergency repair teams to fix excavation damage at a major command reservoir.

eMalahleni residents face another weekend without water after a main bulk pipeline was damaged during excavation work at the Point D Command Reservoir.

To repair the pipeline, the municipality had to shut down and isolate the Witbank Water Treatment Plant and drain the system.

Repairs underway

“The water supply system will remain isolated until the damaged pipeline is repaired,” the municipality posted on its Facebook page.

The repairs are expected to take approximately four days to complete.
