Middelburg Flying Squad cracks down on drug trafficking
The man arrested in relation to the matter is expected to appear in court soon and faces charges of dealing in drugs.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a high-speed chase on the N12 led to the discovery of drugs in his vehicle on July 23.
According to the police, Middelburg Flying Squad officers were on patrol when they spotted a silver Audi A4 with Gauteng registration speeding past the Watermeyer off-ramp at around 21:30. The vehicle was pursued and stopped shortly thereafter.
A search of the car by police revealed 32 packets of substances suspected to be drugs hidden in the boot. The suspect, who was alone in the vehicle, was arrested on-scene.

Police confirmed that the man will soon appear before the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing in drugs.
The Mpumalanga SAPS Provincial Commissioner’s office has praised the swift action of the Flying Squad, noting that such arrests are crucial in disrupting drug trafficking along Mpumalanga’s major routes.
