Two face court after being arrested with rhino horns and rifles on N12

The duo faces charges of the possession of rhino horns and unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Two men are expected to appear in court soon following their arrest after police discovered rhino horns, two rifles, and rounds of ammunition in their vehicle during a late-night patrol on the N12 near Ogies on July 22.


​According to the police, members of the Middelburg Flying Squad stopped a silver Toyota Etios at about 23:45. Upon searching the car, they uncovered two rhino horns hidden under a jacket, along with two rifles and rounds of ammunition.

​The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court soon.
