The Hudson Sello Foundation, in partnership with various organisations such as the Witbank SAPS and Witbank Youth Desk, recently honoured the legacy of Nelson Mandela by hosting a netball and soccer tournament aimed at fighting crime in local schools.

The tournament on July 25 brought together four schools at the TP Sililo Secondary School sports ground, including Reynopark High School, Ilanga Secondary School, Greendale School, and the hosts.

Apart from the competitive matches, the learners also received motivation from various speakers, such as Sello Hudson, founder of the initiative, who encouraged them to stay away from substance abuse and avoid committing any crimes, and to focus on their studies. They also received pamphlets educating them about the dangers of substance abuse.

Ilanga lifted the trophy on the netball court while TP Sililo was crowned champions on the soccer field. In addition to the trophies, the winners also received medals, with the rest of the teams receiving participation medals.
