One dead as multiple crashes keep emergency services busy

A person has died and three others were injured in a serious crash on the R555 Old Ogies Road as emergency services responded to several incidents across the city in the past 24 hours.

Emergency personnel had their hands full over the past 24 hours, responding to a series of crashes across the city.

The most serious incident occurred last night on the R555 Old Ogies Road, where a person was declared dead at the scene following a serious crash.

Three other people were injured in the collision, although the extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Just minutes later, the N4 towards Middelburg was temporarily closed after two trucks collided. At this stage, limited information is available regarding the cause of the collision or whether anyone was injured.

The busy period for emergency services continued into this morning when another crash was reported on the Schonland off-ramp.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution on the roads, remain alert, and obey the rules of the road to help prevent further accidents and ensure they arrive safely at their destinations.
