Sun safety boost for eMalahleni’s albinism community
A partnership is helping protect people living with albinism by providing essential sunscreen and hats to reduce exposure to harmful UV rays.
People living with albinism in eMalahleni received a helping hand through a Mandela Day initiative aimed at improving their health and quality of life.
The Emalahleni Local Municipality, through its Transversal Unit, partnered with Glencore to donate sunscreen lotion and wide-brimmed hats to beneficiaries during a handover ceremony held at the Mayor’s Parlour on July 31.
The municipality welcomed Glencore’s contribution, noting that quality sunscreen is often costly and beyond the reach of many families.

The donation will help ease this financial burden while providing recipients with essential protection that supports their health, dignity and quality of life.
