Police are investigating reckless and negligent driving after a Quantum and sedan collided on the R555 Clewer ramp, leaving several people injured.

The Witbank SAPS has opened a case of reckless and negligent driving following a collision between a Quantum minibus taxi and a sedan on the R555 on- and off-ramp at Clewer on the evening of August 17.

Police confirmed that while several people were injured and taken to hospital for medical attention, no fatalities were reported.

According to the police, the Quantum’s driver confirmed that he was about to turn onto the ramp when the vehicle collided with the sedan.

The Witbank SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer David Ratau, confirmed that investigations are now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash, with officers examining whether driver conduct or other contributing factors played a role.
