33-year-old Kwa-Guqa woman survives traumatic bottle assault
A woman’s trip to the mall turned violent when a man allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Vosman SAPS has launched an investigation into the alleged robbery of a 33-year-old eMalahleni woman and her relative during an e-hailing trip.
According to police, the women asked another woman to request an e-hailing service for them near a shopping centre in Kwa-Guqa on the evening of September 8. They allegedly got into a white Suzuki sedan occupied by three men.
Robbed at gunpoint
During the trip, one of the occupants produced a firearm and threatened the two women before demanding money. The suspects reportedly drove them to the Kromdraai area, where they allegedly robbed them of money and a Samsung cellphone.
According to police, the woman reported that one of the suspects sexually assaulted her. The woman reportedly lost consciousness during the incident, while her relative was assaulted.
The victims were later assisted by a passer-by and taken to a local clinic for medical treatment.

Police appeal for information
The three suspects have not yet been identified, and no arrests have been made.
