Taking a stand against bullying and substance abuse at Sukumani Primary

Breaking the silence on substance abuse and bullying at Sukumani.

Phola SAPS is taking a proactive stand against substance abuse and bullying in schools, with a recent visit to Sukumani Primary School aimed at empowering learners and promoting human rights.


The initiative, held on March 20 in collaboration with various partners, focused on raising awareness and encouraging open conversations around challenges many learners face daily.

Phola SAPS visited Sukumani Primary School to spread awareness about substance abuse, bullying, and human rights on March 20.


Sergeant Thabang Ntuli, said, “Substance abuse and bullying remain ongoing challenges in South African schools. Many learners experience bullying each year, while a significant number of teenagers engage in drug use, creating a hostile, unsafe, and often unmanageable environment for learners, teachers, and staff.”
