Sweat, smiles, and shopping bags

Fitness enthusiasts requested that the initiative becomes a regular fixture on the mall’s calendar.

If you expected just a quick dash to Kriel Mall for milk and bread, you were in for a surprise.

On March 7, the mall traded window shopping for a morning filled with high-energy exercise.

The centre hosted a fitness event titled ‘Get Up & Move’.

According to Kurt Keshwar, the centre manager at Kriel Mall, the event aimed to encourage health, wellness, and active lifestyles within the local community, and it did exactly that.

The outdoor activation brought together fitness enthusiasts, families, and stores for an energetic morning of movement and community engagement.

’Get Up & Move’ was hosted in collaboration with local personal trainer Tebogo Monama, also known as Mr T, alongside several of his fellow personal trainers.

Together, they led participants through a dynamic fitness experience, and fun was had every step of the way.

The session combined aerobics, functional training, and dance fitness, creating an inclusive and high-energy atmosphere that catered to different fitness levels.

Adding to the fun, loads of prizes were given out throughout the day.

“The event forms part of Kriel Mall’s ongoing efforts to create engaging experiences that bring together retail, wellness, and community interaction,” Kurt said.
