Man dies in house fire in Empumelelweni
The Vosman police have opened an inquest docket while the cause of the fire is being investigated.
A man has died following a devastating house fire in Empumelelweni Extension 5 on the night of July 19.
Community members said that at around 22:45 they heard two loud noises shortly before noticing flames pouring from the windows of the house.
Neighbours rushed to assist, using buckets of water in an attempt to contain the fire while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
Once the fire was brought under control, emergency teams searched the property and discovered the body of an adult male inside the burnt-out structure.
Paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene.
The police have opened an inquest docket.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and the investigation is continuing.
