Masked robbers shoot man and loot home in Klarinet robbery
Police advise residents to follow perpetrators’ instructions during an attack to protect their lives.
A Klarinet man is recovering in hospital after two armed intruders held his sister at gunpoint and shot him during a home invasion.
According to police, a woman from Klarinet Ext 7 alleged that two masked men entered her room at around 21:00 on August 31 and held her at gunpoint.
She said the men demanded money and took her cellphone and a plastic bag containing clothes, before breaking into another room and stealing two more cellphones.
As she screamed for help, the intruders fled and encountered her brother, whom they reportedly robbed of his cellphone and shot in the leg before escaping.
The injured man was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

Police urge vigilance
A case of house robbery and attempted murder was opened, and investigations are underway.
Warrant Officer David Ratau of Witbank SAPS urged residents, particularly those in Klarinet and Siyanqoba, to keep their doors, windows and gates secured as house robberies in the area increase.
“Practise extra caution to prevent house robberies, but if you do find yourself in such a situation, always make sure to follow their instructions and give them whatever they want to spare your life,” Ratau said.
