Two suspects to appear in court for Siyanqoba burglary and rape
Two suspects linked to a Siyanqoba house robbery and rape case are expected to appear in court, while a third suspect is still at large.
The Siyanqoba rape and burglary case returns to the eMalahleni Regional Court today, with the two accused expected to appear before the court.
The incident took place in September last year when three suspects allegedly broke into the victim’s home while she was sleeping with her children. Police said the suspects gained entry after smashing a bedroom window.
The woman moved her children to another room before being confronted by the suspects. One of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at her and demanded money before she was forced into another bedroom and raped.
The suspects fled the scene with a plasma television, cellphones, a Wi-Fi router and a gas cylinder.
Police investigations are continuing, and a third suspect is still being sought.
