Emalahleni court hears bail application of trio in Lynnville murder case

Relatives of Vusimuzi Radebe insist he was innocent as community activists demand full accountability for the alleged vigilante attack.

Three people accused of murdering Lynnville resident Vusimuzi Radebe are expected to return to the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court today, October 6, for a formal bail application.

Nkosinathi Samkelo Masinga (31), Queenath Skosana (39), and Lassy Phahlamohlala (42) remain in custody after making their first court appearance on September 28.

The case was postponed to allow for a formal bail application.
The three suspects were arrested following the death of Radebe (40), who was assaulted, allegedly by a group of community members in Lynnville on September 19.

According to the police, officers responded to a complaint of alleged vigilantism and found Radebe lying on the ground with visible injuries.

Emergency medical services declared him dead at the scene, and a murder case was subsequently opened.

Family seeks answers

Radebe’s relatives have maintained that he may have been mistaken for someone involved in criminal activity and insist there was no evidence linking him to any wrongdoing.

They have continued to seek answers about the circumstances that led to the fatal attack.
