BWIM holds finance masterclass to equip women in mining

The class wanted to empower women-owned businesses with practical tools, financial readiness and compliance training.

Businesswomen in Mining (BWIM) recently held a Business Finance Masterclass to equip women-owned businesses with practical tools to grow in the mining sector.

BWIM president Nondsi Malinga said the event was not just about challenges, but about solutions – helping women become funding-ready, compliant and competitive for high-value opportunities beyond low-value contracts.

The masterclass covered financial readiness, procurement, compliance and specialisation, and ended with a business clinic where entrepreneurs received one-on-one guidance.

BWIM said the aim is to build technically competent and financially resilient women-owned companies that can thrive across the mining value chain.
