NOTICE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS (PPP) FOR THE REMOVAL OF INDIGENOUS PLANTS FOR A POULTRY DEVELOPMENT.
Notice is given in terms of Section 24 of the National Environmental Management Act of 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) as amended, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations GN R326 of
07 April 2017.
The intention is to apply for an environmental authorisation in accordance with NEMA relating to the following project:
Proposed removal of indigenous vegetation for a poultry at Zondagskraal farm number 145 JT Portion 14.
The following listed activities triggered the need for EIA and have been applied for:
GNR 983 Activity 27. The clearance of an area of 1 hectare or more, but less than 20 hectares of indigenous vegetation. 19.5 Hectares will be cleared.
The development and related operation of facilities or infrastructure for the concentration of: Activity 5 Listing

(ii) more than 5000 poultry per facility situated outside an urban area, excluding chicks younger than 20 days
Details of Stakeholder Engagements Process:
LC Enviro Consultancy (Pty) Ltd has been appointed as an independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to conduct basic assessment process in terms of the EIA Regulations of 2017 and associated stakeholder engagements.
