NOTICE OF NEMA SECTION 24G APPLICATION
Notice is hereby given that a Section 24G application (subject to Section 28) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended and the amended EIA Regulations (2014) will be submitted with the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture Rural, Development, Land & Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA) for the assessment and rectification of unauthorized activities.
Project title:
Unlawful clearing of 20Ha of indigenous vegetation to the extent of 19Ha on Portion 6 and Portion 7 of the farm Valyspruit 134-JT, Dullstroom, Emakhazeni Municipality, Nkangala District.

Project description:
The project entails the construction and operation of four chicken egg production units, sorting and packing facility as well as a poultry feed factory. The extent of the activities is approximately 2Ha. The following regulated activities listed in the EIA Regulations (2014) were contravened:
LN1 Activity 27: The clearance of an area of 1 hectare or more, but less than 20 hectares of indigenous vegetation;
LN3 Activity 12: The clearance of an area of 300 square metres or more of indigenous vegetation within critical biodiversity areas identified in bioregional plans.
