NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION APPLICATION IN TERMS OF REGULATION NO: 983 (LISTING NOTICE 1; ACTIVITY 21 & 27), AS AMENDED ON 04 DECEMBER 2014 OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 107 OF 1998).
Reggies Catering and other Projects (Pty) Ltd has lodged Mining Permit application for
C (COAL) and Pc (Pseudocoal) with the Mpumalanga Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) in terms of section 27 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act 2002(Act 28 0f 2002). Application with Ref No:
MP 30/5/1/1/3/15562 MP on Portion of Portion 13 of the farm Mooifontein 109 IT situated in the magisterial district of Ermelo.
The proposed C (COAL) and Pc (Pseudocoal) mining permit project will constitute the clearance of vegetation, drilling & blasting, as well as screening and hauling.
LISTED ACTIVITIES APPLICABLE:
NEMA Government Notice 983 Listing Notice 1, Activity No.21: Any activity including the operation of that activity which requires a mining permit in terms of section 27 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, as well as any other applicable activity as contained in this listing notice or in Listing Notice 3 of 2014, required to exercise the mining permit.
NEMA Government Notice 983, Listing Notice 1: Activity No.27: The clearance of an area of 1 hectares or more, but less than 20 hectares of indigenous vegetation, except where such clearance of indigenous vegetation is required for- (i) the undertaking of a linear activity; or (ii) maintenance purposes undertaken in accordance with a maintenance management plan.
