The world we leave behind
I'm not insisting on anything radical, it's about the small things.

Are we truly happy with the state of things in the world?
I mean we live in the moment and experience all life has to offer, the birth of a new life or the passing of another, good and bad but still we live it and do the best we can to survive each day.
But do we know what we are leaving for the next generation?
As I am writing this I have experienced love, holding my daughter and seeing my wife laying there, tired and beaten down but still smiling wearily I experience love every day.
They say the moment you hold your child there’s a moment when a switch goes off in your head and you transition into parenthood.
My transition was like a gunshot.
My ears were ringing and I could feel this overwhelming sense of purpose and direction flood over my being.
I finally understood why God placed me on this earth: to make sure that little girl laying in my arms has a future she can feel safe in.
With all going on in our country today from the polony epidemic to land reform I realised that we are to quick to runaway.
We have become slaves to our fears and our own minds that we don’t think about the future but rather the ‘now’.
Things are not always bright and rosy in our country and I know that very well, but I’ll be damned if I don’t fight everyday to ensure my child has a bright future ahead of her no matter what it takes.
I’m not insisting on anything radical, it’s about the small things.
Be kind to your fellow man, respect people and above all love everyone until you can’t love anymore.
This is what I will teach my child and whatever my pass or come before us that I will act in the interest of the next generation.
Plant the tree without expecting results but allowing the next generation to enjoy the shade.
Tomorrow we might just change the world, but for now I have to change a diaper first.
Small steps.
