Say what you need to say

It’s so easy to be outspoken these days, a power we have come to abuse.

I am guilty of something; I love drama. Not causing it or being involved but seeing how drama of various sorts unfold around me from the ranting and raving of a bad product that was bought up to the lovers quarrel between the unknowing man and well informed woman and on top of that I am highly curious so that’s the oil to my fire it seems. See we are all guilty of this actually because of one reason: Social media.

Buddy luckily doesn’t have a Facebook profile otherwise I would be messaging with him all day and assuring him that the tree that just moved is not trying to come into our yard to steal something. That being said, that’s exactly what we would do. We love relaying information about our personal lives and sharing everything with everybody, even strangers in the hopes that they can somehow magically fix it? But the problem is you only come off looking like an attention seeker hoping that the outside world can validate your feelings and show that you were right all along. The biggest issue I have about social media is that our societal culture has dictated us to become experts in camouflage and hiding behind something and never showing our true positions on anything.

When buddy was a puppy and messed all around the house by destroying his chew toys or relieving himself on the carpet I was always honest and straightforward about my disdain in his actions by reprimanding him and then he would stop doing it. How nice would our social media feeds be if people could actually stop posting these subliminal quotes or sayings that are clearly aimed at somebody who wronged them and just lose their camouflage in order to say what they need to say? But alas, we have grown much too fond of hiding. We need to become a quintessential society that won’t quiver at any questions aimed directly at us or else we will stay scared of facing problems head on.

Buddy is laying his big body down on his basket and I’m thinking to myself; maybe I can send him an email concerning the mess he left in the hallway.
