We all love. Maybe not in the way we want, but we do. It’s the single most genuine thing left in society that we can preserve and keep sacred for extortion…unless we count Valentine’s Day. See I love love and I love loving my partner, family and friends and I even partake in Valentine’s day not because I bought into a capitalistic sentiment made to extort money from husbands trying to make up for missing an anniversary or couples being cheesy, but because I believe that one day we can just forget about being judged and be cheesy as hell because: why not?
Loving your significant other or family should not be restricted to just one day, that’s just common knowledge so why do people feel Valentine’s Day is over rated? Probably because they don’t have someone to share it with (just kidding) or they feel left out. Human nature dictates us to feel belonging to things, celebrations or people so if you take a day like Valentine’s Day, you’d much prefer spending it with someone than being alone and no matter how you look at it one fact remains…we crave love.
Buddy’s love is much deeper than I have ever experienced or felt even because he will give anything on this earth for one thing: food. Look he loves me too, but I mean have you seen an overweight dachshund sprinting at the sound of a packet opening and then starting to drool at the very thought of food? We should all aspire to love, not just one another or things but each other and loving each other is hard, very very hard. We should love people even if they bash your confessions of love on Facebook to your wife or girlfriend. We should love people when they try to drag everyone down with their “I hate money hungry corporations who capitalises on feelings for profit” rants and tells everyone how stupid they are. We should love them, even when they can’t find the love themselves.
Me and my soon to be wife are sitting down to watch a movie and with the first hand full of popcorn I hear Usain Bolt coming down the hallway. Man, I love my dog.
