Believe it or not, come see for yourself
Highveld Mall will host an Auditorium of ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not!’ artefacts for nearly a month later this year.
A selection of genuine, original ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not!’ oddities will be on display in ‘The Mall with more’ from August 28 to September 20. This collection of 18 exhibits will include everything from history, to zoology, to dinosaurs and even outer space.
“In 1933, Mr Ripley undertook one of his longest trips from Cairo to South Africa. It was a two month trip, highly publicized, where people flocked to him with their oddities. Ripley’s is looking forward to bringing our brand back to South Africa and its people in the form of a travelling show at South African malls, filled with over 100 oddities from the Ripley collection, including five original pen and ink cartoon panels, drawn by Ripley on location in Africa, in the 1930’s.” said Edward Meyer, Vice President Archives and Exhibits, Ripley Entertainment Inc.
Visitors to the Auditorium, which will stretch the entire length of the mall, will be encouraged to interact with the exhibits, and will be rewarded with ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not!’ branded merchandise and giveaways. Handy QR codes will be available at every exhibit, and sharing your experience via social media will increase your chances of winning fantastic prizes.
