The two-day event was a success with the seats of New Life Church being packed to capacity as potential and existing leaders waited to hear from world class speakers at the Global Leadership Summit (GLS).
The first day of the summit took place on October 9 where the teachings were broadcast from Willow Creek in Chicago to over 100 countries and eMalahleni became host. The first speaker to take the podium was founder of GLS and Senior Pastor of Willow Greek Community Church Billy Hybels, whose theme was ‘The intangibles of leadership’. He spoke about the importance of volunteering and about reading successful people’s biographies to motivate you.

“Reading biographies of successful people will be proof to you that it is indeed possible. If they can do it so can you. The most important questions to ask yourself are these three: what, why and how?” said Hybels.

Best-selling author of Good to Great, Jim Collins subject was ‘Seven questions: Beyond good to great’ where he spoke about how most great leaders do not start as being great leaders, they start small.

“The question is, are you willing to start small, learn and grow,” said Collins.

He further said leaders must change other people’s lives; he says you must work on how you are going to change other people’s lives.

“One must take advantage of being useful and give assistance to those in need,” said Collins.

The summit was designed to help people get better and embrace their grander vision and with the crowd clapping and nodding throughout the day, it proves that the summit’s purpose was achieved.
