Witbank Spurs kept pace at the top of the standings with a win over Milano United, while log leaders Baroka FC dropped two points.

Six matches in the National First Division took place on Saturday, December 19.

“We as the visiting side were happy to sit back and absorb the pressure, Milano struggled to create many chances as the sides went into the break deadlocked at 0-0,” said Freddy Mapulane, Spurs public relations officer.

Spurs set out in the second half with goal in mind and through Cleopas ‘Balloteli’ Dube, they were able to move to within of the summit.

“We are happy with the three points we got today it was always in our plans to close the year with a high winning mentality so that our supporters can enjoy the Christmas, this is a perfect present for them, and would like to thank them for their loyal support on 2015 hope they will continue to rally behind the Siyavutha team in 2016 until the mission is accomplished,” said Freddy.

Spurs would like to wish everyone in eMalahleni and the surrounding areas a merry Christmas and a happy new year, and hope that everyone stays safe on the road.

“Singajubuli ngokweqile Siqabulele ekhaya – don’t drink and drive, arrive alive,” said Freddy.
