The officials from the Witbank Management Area celebrated International Women’s Day on August 31 at the Barhams Bay Resort.

There were 160 female officials working under the Department of Correctional Services Witbank Management Area which gathered together to celebrate and to shine light on the female officials. They also contributed to society with their talents perseverance and timeless wisdom.
“As women in South Africa celebrated this day that took place in 1994 on August 9 women of our nation, mothers, wives the sisters and daughters who fought tirelessly against the tyranny of apartheid government, rise against the apartheid legislation that required black South Africans to carry the “pass” (special identification document) which infringed on their freedom of movement during apartheid era. This women demonstrated power is in the diversity and with diversity comes a new knowledge, women carry the burden of family without expecting that someone will feel her pain or cry her tears. Women celebrate not because some desire is fulfilled but because no desire is ever fulfilled. Desire as such cannot be fulfilled, women create the future with power like a drug, it keeps them stoned not allowing destruction” read the statement from Ms Jabsile Monareng, communications clerk of the Witbank Management Area.
Fun was the name of the game while Witbank Management Area female officials are celebrating Women’s day at Barham’s Bay at Duvha Park.
The women from the Witbank Management Area celebrated their day and they had a guest speaker for the day, who encouraged the female official of this department and motivated them in all aspects of life, and then the officials did a team building session through playing indigenous games. After everything was done the official indulged themselves in the resort to relax.
