Weekend viewing

Not sure what’s worth watching this weekend? Feeling like there are too many choices? We’ve got your back with our list of must-watch movies.

Lightyear is a Pixar-animated sci-fi origin story for the astronaut who inspired the Buzz Lightyear action figure in the Toy Story films. After being marooned with his crew on an alien planet for more than a year, young space ranger Buzz Lightyear takes a test flight in hopes of getting everyone home. When the flight goes awry, Buzz is accidentally sent 62 years into the future, where evil robots controlled by Emperor Zurg have taken over the planet. Teaming up with a ragtag team of space recruits, Buzz will have to travel through time and space to get back home and restore normalcy to the universe. Lightyear is now showing at a cinema near you.

Two inmates form a connection while grappling with their pasts in a state-of-the-art penitentiary run by a brilliant visionary who experiments on his subjects with mind-altering drugs. Watch Spiderhead on Netflix.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash – it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now on Showmax.
