A 24-year-old woman was allegedly raped by three men who offered her a lift from Birdswood in Richards Bay on Saturday around midday.
According to Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson, Captain Debbie Ferreira, the complainant was waiting near the Richards Bay Airport for transport to the Central Business District (CBD) when she accepted a lift from the men travelling in a blue car.
They drove with her to nearby bushes and sexually assaulted her.
‘We advise the public to be alert and cautious of this modus operandi.
‘This is not only a warning to women, but also to the general public, to be weary of accepting lifts from unknown individuals,’ she said.
